Jessica & Andrew's Elm Court Wedding, Lenox, MA

Jessica & Andrew's Wedding was a little slice of heaven in the middle of a very busy wedding season. Due to Jessica's busy schedule as Campaign Manager in Tuscon, AZ we had little time to catch up before the wedding, but a big hug and bright smile from her as soon as I walked in the door set the tone for the rest of the day. Getting ready in the nearby suite, Andrew the tall and dashing groom was sweet, relaxed and fun. I knew I had another awesome wedding ahead with great families and a bridal party who was ready to celebrate! The traditions of the day made it so interesting to capture. It started with the signing of the shoes, where Jessica wrote each of her single friends names down at the bottom of her wedding shoe. If the name remained in tact at the end of the day, this was the girl who was next to marry. Also each girl, had a sapphire colored eye sewn to their gown to ward off "bad luck". Andrew and Jessica were married in Lenox's Church on the Hill where Andrew's sister officiated and made the ceremony so personal and special. At the end of the ceremony they got to ring the bell and as I took the pictures I wondered if Jessica might be catapulted into the air. Check out those shots below! Later on in the evening, they made sure that Jessica's Jewish faith was represented when her grandfather read blessings in Hebrew as they stood under the Chuppah. One of the most special parts of weddings this year have been all the amazing speeches given. In years past, it was primarily the best man but now seems to me, that more are given as the parents of the bride and groom and more than one member of the bridal party get up to say a few words. For Jessica and Andrew, champagne was served in the library and friends and family casually gathered around to hear speeches from Jessica's bridesmaids, Andrew's best man and Jessica's parents.  The love for these two filled the room and stories of how much they are adored and adore one another were plentiful.  Love speeches - one of my favorite parts of every wedding! It also so nice to have Sonya Heimann there during the getting ready shots as she did hair and make-up. I loved having Experience Events there to coordinate and to make sure I was always in the know.  Also, this was the 2nd weekend in a row that Sharona of Sharona Jacobs Photography came out from Boston to assist me with capturing the wedding.  She's lovely in every way and has a great eye for shots of people, details and suggestions like rings in pie! I want to say thank you again to this superstar team. Adding to the fun of the day is shooting at Elm Court. Amazing.  This is one of four weddings I have shot there and with its gorgeous mountain views and all the history, character and eclectic charm, I feel lucky to live so close and to capture events there. Best wishes to Jessica & Andrew. Cheers to your marriage and a beautiful life together! XO Tricia
