LINDA & JON’S CLARK ART INSTITUTE WEDDING

Linda and Jon were married at the Clark Art Institute on a Monday. Jon’s parents, and their two friends were the only attendees for this sweet, intimate ceremony. It was beautiful. After the ceremony, I jumped in my car, looked out at the pouring rain and asked myself, “How are we going to do this?” The rain was torrential and Linda and Jon, who live in Texas, were equally as in disbelief – SO MUCH RAIN. My knowledge of the Berkshires kicked in. I created a map in my head down Route 7 thinking of all the locations I could that had some sort of outdoor covering. I looked at them and said, “Are you ready for an adventure?” and that is exactly what it turned out to be.

We drove to four separate locations and luckily, their good friends Haylie and James were all in! First stop, a path off the side of the road. This required a soggy walk and a change of shoes. The tree lined path felt like such a picturesque location. Next stop, The Lake House. We were able to use their gorgeous porches and Linda and Jon were even brave enough to venture out onto the docks for some shots in front of the lake. After that, we went to Hancock Shaker Village for some fall inspired photos – I used a strong off camera flash to capture them under cover but also the fall foliage outside.

Our last stop was the Curtis building in Lenox where I knew there would be covering and great light. I had taught classes in that building for 5 years and knew it was special under any kind of weather conditions.

I loved that Linda and Jon were up for it all. Also how special to have your two best friends by your side on a crazy rainy adventure to capture some amazing images on your wedding day!

Admittedly this was one of my most challenging portraits of 2021, but I am so happy with how they came out. This day, this couple, and their love made it extra special. Congratulations to such a special couple.
